Writing your personal Story, clarifying your Values, identifying your Passion and defining your Purpose statement will give your business clear direction. Once you have created your SVPP you will be able to alignment everything you do with it, and will enable you to build an authentic brand.
Knowing your why is an important first step in figuring out how to achieve goals that excite you and create a life you enjoy living.
It’s in your heart not your head. During this process you will have to be honest, to create your SVPP you will have to focus on what you feel inside and be true to yourself. You will need to take time to wait for deeper answers without a phone, emails and daily distractions. It’s all about you and the things you want out of life, so, turn off everything and put number one first for a change.
The first step is to write your own story; how did you get to where you are today? Imagine you need to write your own eulogy. I know it may seem a little strange, but take a few minutes to imagine you’re gone and people talking about you. What would they say about your life? It may bring a lot of emotion, but it is an incredibly powerful way to see yourself.
Next is to clarify your values. Your values are your principles or standards and what is important in life and work. They should determine your priorities and deep down your values are the ways in which you measure whether your life is turning out how you want it to. When the things that you do and the way you behave match your values, life is usually good, you’re satisfied and content. But when your values and life or work don’t align this is when things feel wrong.
Identifying your passion is the same as identifying you. The truth is that, as human beings, almost all of our forward momentum is driven by the pursuit of happiness. Even the desire to socialise, love, and connect with other human beings is driven by our desire to be happy. There is nothing worse than waking up every morning to mindlessly go and do work that you don’t care about. However, this is rarely an issue when you are passionate about the work you do. If you are not forced to work in a job, because of monetary constraint, you truly enjoy what you do and you never really work a day in your life.
Finally, we will help you define your sense of purpose so you can pursue inspiring goals. The power of purpose is similar to the energy of light focused through a magnifying glass. Diffused light has little use, but when its energy is concentrated—as through a magnifying glass—that same light can set fire to paper.
Ultimately, when you know what drives you from this deeper place, your intentions and actions follow easily. Living with purpose means focusing on things that matter most and this is when your limits are boundless.
German philosopher Frederick Nietzsche once said, ‘He who has a why can endure any how.’ Knowing your why is an important first step in figuring out how to achieve goals that excite you and create a life you enjoy living.
