Being part of a Beehive

Home/Mystery Shopping/Being part of a Beehive

I am just back from the Mystery Shopping Providers Association’s European conference in Athens. What a fabulous few days, the hotel Divani Apollon Palace was excellent, the weather was nice and warm, but most of all the conference was exceptional.

Put 220 Mystery Shoppers in the same room for 3 days, it felt pretty amazing; I was surrounded with people that eat, sleep, breath Mystery Shopping and have the same common values and beliefs’.

Everyone there was so open, wishing to meet new members, ready to share ideas and help each other, because we were in an environment where we felt comfortable and created a real sense of trust.

When I became a member of the MSPA, I felt privileged to have been accepted; the association has brought for me a chance to meet similar businesses and create partnerships throughout the world. It is amazing to think we could have, in Jersey similar, challenges that communities in far-east Russia, or to think some companies have 10,000 shoppers on their books or perform 8,000 visits per month. It was an opportunity to hear what happens in other countries and how Mystery Shopping companies develop their services globally, in order to help their clients.

I felt I was part of a Beehive, all looking towards the same direction for the highest mission of the Hive; and together as an association we can promote the goals and ethical conduct of the MSPA to improve and stimulate the acceptance, performance, reputation and use of mystery shopping services worldwide.

I have come back “buzzing” from this experience and ready to start new projects here on our little islands but perhaps further afield too, so much to do, so much to see, so many exciting times to come…

Glad to hear you had a good time!

Talking to others from around the world who work in the same area is always fascinating – I remember a conference I attended earlier this year where a group of us held a workshop session about a ‘Software as a Service’ to discuss the challenges we all faced.

Despite different nationalities, backgrounds and the fact that we were all representing different products, over a dozen of us all cited exactly the same ‘top’ problem – and we probably spent longer discussing how interesting that was, than anything else!
